Privacy policy
Last updated 21 October 2026
The short version: we keep your account details and the reports you create, and nothing else from the websites and documents we check. We never sell your information or share it for advertising.
What we keep
- Your account: your name, email address and Google account ID, from signing in with Google. We don't see or store your Google password.
- Your reports: for each scan, the addresses and titles of the pages we checked, the problems we found, short snippets of the code where each problem is, small screenshots of the problem areas, and pictures of your start page on a desktop and a phone screen. Document reports hold the problems found in each PDF and its title, language and page count.
- Your plan and settings: whether you're on Free or Pro, the websites and documents on your account, and your weekly monitoring settings.
- Usage limits: a count of how many scans and document checks you've run today, deleted after two days.
What we don't keep
- The websites we scan: we load each page in a browser, check it and keep only the report. We don't keep copies of your pages, their text or their images. The list of pages waiting to be scanned is deleted when the scan finishes.
- Documents you upload: each PDF is deleted as soon as it has been checked. We keep only the report.
- Payment details: payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Tracking: we don't use advertising or analytics trackers. Your browser remembers your sign-in, which fixes you've ticked off and which website builder you chose, and these stay on your device.
How we use it
- To run your scans and document checks and show you the reports.
- To email you about your own scans: when a report is ready, when a scan fails, and weekly monitoring reports if you turn them on.
- To apply your plan's limits and keep the service safe from abuse.
- To answer you when you contact us.
We don't send marketing emails, and we never sell, rent or trade your information to anyone.
Who helps us run Alleviator
These companies process data only so that we can provide the service:
- Google Cloud and Firebase host the app, sign-in, database and file storage, in the United States.
- Stripe handles Pro payments and subscriptions.
- Our email provider sends emails from admin@alleviator.app.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Reports stay in your account until you delete them. Pro accounts can remove a website or document, which deletes its reports and screenshots straight away. To delete your whole account and everything in it, email us and we'll do it within 30 days.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing admin@alleviator.app. You can turn off weekly monitoring emails at any time from the link in each email.
Children
Alleviator is a tool for website and business owners. It isn't meant for children under 16.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and tell you by email if the change is significant. Questions? Email admin@alleviator.app. See also our terms of service.
