Accessibility statement
Last updated 22 October 2026
The short version: Alleviator exists to make websites work for everyone, so this one has to as well. We aim for WCAG 2.2 Level AA across alleviator.app, we check every release with our own scanner and by hand, and we want to hear about anything we've missed.
What we aim for
We work to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, and to Level AAA where we reasonably can, such as colour contrast and target size. This statement covers the website at alleviator.app, including the report pages, the account area and the example report.
How we check
- Our own scanner: every page of this site is scanned with Alleviator before a release, the same checks our customers get.
- Keyboard: every feature is used with the keyboard alone, including the report tabs, the easy fix guide, the reading options widget and the live chat.
- Screen readers: we test with NVDA on Windows and VoiceOver on macOS and iOS.
- Zoom and reflow: pages are checked at 200% zoom and at a 320 px wide viewport.
- Reduced motion and colour schemes: the site follows your system's motion and dark mode settings.
Reading options on this site
The "Reading options" button in the corner of every page lets you make text bigger, add spacing, change contrast, highlight links, show a reading guide, stop motion and more. Your choices stay in your own browser. Press Alt + Shift + A to open it from the keyboard. It is an extra, not a substitute: the site is built to work without it. Every paid Alleviator plan includes the same widget for your own website.
Known limitations
- The example report shows problems found on a demonstration website that was built with accessibility faults on purpose. Screenshots and code snippets from that site appear in the report as evidence; the report itself is accessible.
- PDF downloads are tagged for screen readers, with headings, lists and tables. Very large reports can have long tables that are slow to navigate.
- Live chat is our own, but messages from our team arrive as plain text; we don't yet offer an audio or video alternative within the chat itself. You can always book a video call from the help page instead.
- Third-party content: payment pages are provided by Stripe and sign-in by Google. We chose them in part for their accessibility, but we don't control them.
Tell us what we missed
If any part of this site is hard to use, email admin@alleviator.app or use the chat button. Say which page and what happened, and what browser or assistive technology you were using if you know. We reply within two working days and we fix accessibility problems ahead of other work.
Formal statement
This statement was prepared on 22 October 2026 by Alleviator, using our own automated checks and manual testing as described above. It is reviewed whenever the site changes substantially and at least every six months.
